We aim to bring together cross-disciplinary practitioners, academics, students and community members as Africa’s healthcare challenges are many, but each one provides an opportunity for the development of new solutions. Our Health Systems Innovation Portfolio frames an approach to healthcare innovation in Africa, for Africa. It is based on an understanding of real health needs and the belief that social innovation for health is a mechanism through which health systems – in South Africa, across Africa, and globally – can move closer to achieving health equity.

Our goals:

1. To create and promote PHYSICAL spaces for social innovation in health;
2. To create and promote VIRTUAL spaces for social innovation in health;
3. To promote radical collaboration among health innovators;
4. To identify and drive new funding and financial models for health innovation;
5. To deepen understanding and conduct research around how health systems are changed.
