After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the National University of Lesotho in 2008, Thato joined the teaching Service department. He has worked as an Agricultural Officer (2009) and held various roles with the World Vision Lesotho until 2012. During this time Thato acquired professional training on Disaster Risk Management and achieved certificates from the World Bank Institute in partnership with Earthquake and Megacities Initiative in Philippines – where he assumed the National Disaster Management Coordinator role.
In 2013, Thato was part of the team that introduced a small NGO, Send a Cow Lesotho (SACL), under the auspices of Send a Cow UK, leading the Sustainable Agriculture and Environment programme - and joining the Lesotho Council of NGOs (LCN) in 2014 as Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resource Coordinator. Since 2016, he has been working with the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) to help improve the standard of living of the people affected by the Lesotho Highland Water Project.
Thato is passionate about small-scale farming and since 2013 has made contributions that helped re-boost the farming activities in his village.
