Prashana Rampersad

Prashana aims to contribute towards designing and piloting initiatives that seek to provide disadvantaged populations, especially refugees and asylum seekers in South Africa, with access to professional skills development and employment opportunities through work experience. With 3.5 years’ experience in the NGO sector, Prashana believes that she has imperative insights on the needs of her beneficiaries, in conjunction with professional workplace practices, for meaningful work experience interventions that propel pathways to employment and career development for economic integration of refugees and asylum seekers into South African labour markets. Her skills and strengths lie in designing and implementing professional development interventions for successful transition - from academic to employment spaces and interventions that address professional development skill gaps. This includes strategic planning, project management, systems design, professional development curriculum design and facilitation, stakeholder engagement and partnerships, career coaching and inclusive workplace advocacy.
