Fergus manages the Bertha Centre’s Scholarship Programme and is Senior Advisor to the SSJI and Youth Development portfolios. Fergus holds a Masters in Inclusive Innovation Studies at the Graduate School of Business where he focused on action research in the cultural sector and creative economies. He also holds an honours degree in Human Geography and a Bachelor’s specialising in Political Science and Public Policy & Administration. Prior to joining the Bertha Centre, Fergus’s work experience ranges from consulting in risk management, organisational strategy and stakeholder engagement to investigative journalism and event organising. In 2016 Fergus launched a cultural incubator and community centre, The Hive, that provides support to creative entrepreneurs and community-organised placemaking festivals which continue to operate.
